Theo số liệu thống kê từ Tổng cục Hải quan, năm 2021, xuất khẩu thanh long là một trong những mặt hàng chủ lực của trái cây Việt Nam với kim ngạch đạt hơn 1,04 tỷ USD, chiếm 29,4% tổng kim ngạch xuất khẩu rau quả của cả nước. Các tỉnh trồng thanh long chủ yếu nằm ở khu vực Nam Trung Bộ và Nam Bộ, tuy nhiên, tình hình dịch Covid-19 đã gây ảnh hưởng tiêu cực đến quá trình sản xuất, thu hoạch và tiêu thụ thanh long, làm cho nhiều sản phẩm nông sản, trong đó có thanh long, gặp khó khăn trong việc tiêu thụ.

Thanh long sấy dẻo (Dried Dragon Fruit / 干火龙果) là một sản phẩm chế biến từ thanh long tươi, được sản xuất từ nguồn nguyên liệu dồi dào và tươi ngon tại các vùng trồng thanh long. Recently, Vietnamese dragon fruit has gained a strong presence in export markets across Asia, Europe, and the United States, becoming a popular fruit among international consumers, especially among Asian communities in Western countries. According to statistics from the General Department of Customs, in 2021, dragon fruit export continued to be one of the key export items for Vietnamese fruits, with a turnover exceeding 1.04 billion USD, accounting for 29.4% of the total fruit and vegetable export turnover of the country. Dragon fruit is primarily grown in the South Central and Southern regions, although the COVID-19 pandemic has negatively impacted the production, harvest, and consumption of dragon fruit, causing difficulties in the consumption of many agricultural products, including dragon fruit.
